Tuesday 17th February Paul Wooddisse - St. Kilda

Another full house! Paul Wooddisse gave us a very interesting insight into one of the UK's more remote yet delightful cruising grounds off the NW coast of Scotland. He told how all the Islanders had to leave the Island in the 1930's. St. Kilda is now only inhabited by the birds - and lots of them. A delightful place to visit in the right weather. Paul is planning to revisit them this year and has a couple of places left on his boat so if you are interested  - contact him here L'Ecume Des Mers...

Gil Haywood Tues 3rd February “Keeping a boat in the Mediterranean.”

What an inspirational night this turned out to be! Gil is no stranger to MCCC as he used to be a member and one time Secretary!  He outlined his dream to sail to and around the Mediterranean and then described in vivid detail how he and his wife accomplished it aboard their Vancouver 38.

They sailed their boat to the Med with the help of Andrew another of our members and have spent the last 7 years exploring its nooks and cranies. Starting  in Gibraltar, then Barcelona, Marseille and onto Ital...
