David Hicken told us in great style about the wonderful pageant held in June to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. He gave us the inside story of how he and his crew helped escort the Queen, along with about 1,000 other vessels, down the Thames during the pageant. He was in charge of one of the guard boats from the ex Royal Yacht Britannia and he enthusiastically delighted us with his story and showed us some superb photographs of the pageant.

What a fantastic night! With another packed out club room we heard how Keith and his wife Barbara spent last summer cruising the NW coast of Scotland via the Isle of Man. They re-visited many of their favourite places: mainly seen before from the mountain tracks. Keith showed us some fabulous photos of the mountains that they had walked in earlier years but this time taken from the water aboard their Moody. He showed us some wonderful secure anchorages amongst the Islands - a delightful part of the world that offers a suberb, safe and yet at times, challenging cruising ground; full of interest. to be visited time again. Highly recommended!

Following on from our trip to Bristol last year this week we went up to Liverpool. There's so much to see and do in Liverpool that we were spoilt for choice! Being nautical types most of us ended up in the Maritime museum which includes a lot of information about the Titanic. The Slavery Museum also proved popular. We also filled up one of the 'Ducks' and and a had superb trip through the centre of Liverpool culminating in a 'splash down' and trip round the docks!
Many thanks to Paul for and Beryl for their hard work organising the day which went very well and ended in a pub for a nice meal.
