Following on from last years successful Photo Competition and Quiz Night last Tuesday was another very enjoyable night. Our thanks again to Ken who presented an excellent quiz and Bob for organising the members photo competition. Also thanks to everyone who entered the competion and came along to support the quiz and place their votes! As per last year some superb entries and another brilliant home grown evening!

Tuesday 15th March 2011 Quiz and Photo Competition

Our last evening before the end of season AGM was a very enjoyable one thanks to a great deal of effort by Ken who presented an excellent quiz.  Bob had organised a members photo competition and the standard of entries really was excellent.  Andrea very kindly provided a lovely array of nibbles.  Yet again a very good 'home grown' evening.

New Season Tuesday 19th October 2010

The first meeting of the new season is on Tuesday 19th October and this year, for the first time, we are having  a "Nautical Natter Evening". 
 
We'll also be introducing our forthcoming book box, a photo competition for later in the season and generally up-dating
members and visitors about the 'entertainment' we've organised for the next few months. Also an ideal opportunity for everyone to contribute their ideas in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

The Future of the Inland Waterways

Did you know that over half the population of this country lives within 5 miles of an inland waterway?

 You may also know about the media speculation that the Government intends to include the British Waterways’ property portfolio as a component of the £16bn asset sale.

 The Government has made no announcements and is steadfastly refusing to be drawn on the subject.

 However, we have good reason to believe that Government is seriously considering taking British Waterways’ assets and selling...
