What a wonderful night - very enjoyable, good company and the raffle raised £55 towards Club funds. Many thanks to everyone who braved the elements to support the do. A big thank you to Beryl & Bernard, Andrea & Bob and the team. Thanks to Alan for the 'Beetle Sail Drive' and to everyone who donated prizes and bought tickets!

Tuesday 20th December 2011 Christmas Party

Last night the weather held up and this year our Christmas Party 2011 went ahead as planned.  Once again a really nice evening with good friends. Brilliant! Another full house and a great time was had by all! Many thanks, on behalf of the Club, to all the team: those who helped in any way by providing food and raffle prizes, attended and joined in the fun. Following on from our cancelled December 2010 Christmas Party the weather held up this time and the New Year replacement party was superb! Yet another cracking event! Using our well tested recipe we once again had great food and a delightful evening! Christmas Party and Sail Drive. This was another brilliant party! Using last years well tested recipe we had great food and good company!
Washed down sweets galore and the nautical version of a "Beetle Drive" called "Sail Drive". Trevor Skeates gave us a thought provoking and fascinating presentation of life aboard the Lord Nelson.
He told with great passion and enthusiasm of the Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) and its vision. Everyone aboard both the Lord Nelson and Tenacious, the new vessel, are treated as equals. Everyone, disabled or not makes a valuable contribution to life aboard and sailing the ships from port to port. The masters and crew of the ships take great pride in sailing rather than motoring. Single Handed Round the World

Michael Perham, from Potters Bar in Hertfordshire has today, Saturday 15th November 2008, set off to sail single handed round the world at the age of 16. Mike is no stranger to single handed sailing - at the age of 14 he became the youngest person to sail the Atlantic. You can follow Mike's progress via our Blogroll see link below bottom right.
