Tuesday 20th November Keith Beddard - A Cruise to Scotland

Posted by Bob on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, In : Previous Meetings
What a fantastic night! With another packed out club room we heard how Keith and his wife Barbara spent last summer cruising the NW coast of Scotland via the Isle of Man. They re-visited many of their favourite places: mainly seen before from the mountain tracks. Keith showed us some fabulous photos of the mountains that they had walked in earlier years but this time taken from the water aboard their Moody.  He showed us some wonderful secure anchorages amongst the Islands - a delightful part...

On Tuesday, Paul Wooddisse, a member of the club, gave us another very interesting presentation about his adventures as Skipper and RYA Cruising Instructor aboard his boat L'Ecume Des Mers around the Islands and waters of NW Scotland. A splendid evening, with a full house, It was a pleasure to listen to Paul, and we look f...

Tuesday 17th February Paul Wooddisse - St. Kilda

Posted by Webmaster on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, In : Previous Meetings

Paul is planning to revisit them this year and has a couple of places left on his boat so if you are interested  - contact him here L'Ecume Des Mers...

joy.  However, the tale became very exciting on the return journey . A very heavy storm
hit them mid-way from Iceland to Scotland and there was no escape.  The boat weathered
the storm for some time but then "the biggest bang I've ever heard in my life" and his next
recollection was being in the raging sea some yards away from ...
