Andy & Nicky Gibb have sailed their boat Intrepid of Dover, a 40 ft Westerly Oceanlord across the
They sail with family and friends who join and leave the boat at various stages.
Nicky graphically and enthusiastically described how they sailed one of these stages across the Pacific Ocean. Their route was through the Panama Canal to the Galapagos, then to Marquesas, Tahiti, Samoa, other Pacific Islands and on to Australia. She told of the many friends they made and the places they visited The days aboard are well structured – everyone has a purpose! Each crew member is allowed comfort food (not to be shared!) 5 hour watches and lights out at 9pm - saves the battery! Intrepid is a happy ship and life aboard is good!
Our grateful thanks to Nicky - a superb well illustrated presentation from a very experienced and interesting sailor.
